Question: Who writes the journal? I'm sure other families appreciate these updates as much as we do....

Almost half way....

THANK YOU to the recruit in Bravo 181 for your very informative journal writing...you have helped our family better understand what our daughter & her group has been going through week-by-week, especially since the letters are few. Thank you, Ray & Pat Hallgreen

Thanks to ALL Company journal writers. These journals are helping us to see what is upcoming for F181, since we haven't had a journal entry yet. It is our(parents and families) link to what is happening there. THANKS!!!

Hey Barbara,

There is a company historian. That person is a fellow recruit for that company. I give the historian credit for finding the time to do everything and still write these blogs so we can stay up to date with what is happening. Thanks to the CC's as well for allowing the historian the time to write it.

Thanks, Macie, for the info. Another question: Can the recruits get a copy of these comments?

Arthur, It`s the 4th. quarter and you have to rally the D181`s ,because your going to win this game. Keep your heads up there`s light at the end of the tunnel

I don't believe so. I know they aren't allowed on line. It is probably typed up in word and the CCs actually submit the blog for posting. I'm guessing at that part but that is what I would assume! I do know the blogs are completely the historians words with no corrections or editing. I applaud the young man/woman that takes on the responsibility!!

Barbara,

To answer your question, yes, the recruits are able to see the blog posts and your messages.

A former colleague of mine works at the training center and told me that they post print-outs in a common area so the recruits can read - in the little "free time" that they have.

So, keep the encouraging words coming!

I stand corrected. Thanks Kyle. I didn't even think about the possibility of printing the page and posting. Sounds like a good idea to me though.

On that note... Go Foxtrot-181! I'm proud of you son.

ARTER,WRITE YOUR MOM. SHE'S GETTING MAD.

The foxtrot journal is up and they sound like they are learning everything they need to know! I'm pulling for you son! Good luck!

Just found this site, it's great. Red Hill sends love to all and a big hello to Delta 181. See you soon.

Greetings to Echo 181 from Frankfurt, Germany. I may be far away, but you are never far from my thoughts. Thank you for your letters and journals. Keep making it happen and we'll see you April 10th.

The recruits can't see the blogs until there home and graduated. There not printed out ANYwhere...

just curious... the Delta Journal entry has disappeared. New picture was posted on front page and the D181 journal is gone.

I also double checked the blog availability with my seventh week recruit. NO BLOGS POSTED for the recruits to read. You can however print out the blog page and send it along with your letters to your recruits. They may not have a lot of time, but I am sure the pages will make the rounds of the company. I also tried to update my recruit with summaries of her favorite TV program (all those Grey's folks know of which I speak) and even who is off on Dancing with the Stars. Just a small piece from home can raise their spirits.

I sent my son a copy of the blogs, and he got TORE UP by his drill instructor. I'd just keep regular letters going around. Their pretty strict over there.

Hey Dooben,
We all miss you. Dad sent you a card the other day, I have sent you 2 letters and Julia has sent you 3. I can't believe you haven't gotten any of them yet!! Anyways, I hope all is well and they aren't to horrible there. Luckily I didn't go there b/c they would make fun of how much I eat (but only b/c they would be jealous and not b/c I'm fat b/c I'm not) and I would be thrown out for talking back. lol.
We all miss you so much. :) Let us know what time your graduation is at.

Love ya :)

THANK YOU! I am first timer with my child leaving home and this is harder than I thought! I am sure I am not the only one! I really appreciate these blogs!

Thanks to the Historian for keeping loved ones at home well informed about the excellent progress of F-181. Everyone is SO PROUD of all you've accomplished, Tyler, and we can't wait to see you. Stay strong, we know you're not feeling well but we also know you have the drive and perseverance to make it through. You can do it!!!
We love you very much.

Congrats to Charlie Company! I have been following your journal since my son, Josh in Delta Company, arrived in Cape May. Your journals have given me so much insight into the world of the U.S. Coast Guard. I was so happy for you, and I cried with you when things were not going quite so smoothly! I'll be there next week for Delta Company, but please know I'll be there in spirit for you all! Congrats!!!
