Welcome family and friends of Company Charlie.

My son's in Co. Zulu 185, how proud we all are of these young men and woman who join up to serve our country.

If you have any questions...there are wonderfully people here that will help you with whatever the need.

I wish the best for all the new recruits.

Welcome aboard! I am the Mom of a Mike182 graduate. (Nov 26-seems like yesterday) The recruits don;t get to see these comments until about week 6 or 7, and only if they take the initiative to look for it online when they get computer privileges. WRITE TO THEM EVERYDAY! My son said "mail" was the highlight of their days/nights/weeks. They all get very close and share news/stories with the entire company. Stay strong, be proud. Any questions, feel free to email me. coastiemombarker@comcast.net
(8 weeks really does fly by after about week 3)

They accidently posted it under C-182 instead of C-183. Check it out. What was said was well versed.

Hey fellow C-183 family & friends. Our Coastie Recruit "Drew" asked us to send him a cheap digital watch. I can't find anything specific about watches being considered "contraband" pkgs. Hope one of you will know. Our daughter went thru boot camp 4 years ago, said watches were ok, but newspaper clippings were considered contraband, when she went thru.
Thx!!!!
To our Recruit = love the post card & letters. Your sis says hang tuff Bro - if she could endure & make it thru - it will be piece of cake for you!!! Love ya Bud!!

Jacquelyn, words couldn't express just how proud we all are of you. You made a life altering decision and had the courage to follow through on it. I'm sure things were difficult in the beginning, but they can't break you. You're a rock, you're my rock. I love you and can't wait to see you.

Congrats Jacqui and your fellow recruits of Charlie 183. Take care of my lil' woman!

Does anyone know about the graduation process on April 30th? I am flying in from Los Angeles and I did not know how long to be in Cape May. Is it recommended to fly back that same day, or do we get to be with the graduates that night? Do they have leave that night or do they tend to stay in Cape May for a few days? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure to book my flight. Thank you very much. Alexandria Carey

Coastie YOMmy said...

Hey Alex!!
We live in AL, fly up on Thursday, fly back out on Friday. Drew is our 3rd Coastie.

After graduation - Rob is all yours Toots!

Did Rob enlist w/a guarantee of rate or duty station? Everything rests on that answer. If his school is at the TRACEN there at Cape May, they will suggest (pretty strongly) that he stay & not take leave until his training is complete.
Rob, will let you know if he will go home w/you on leave prior to his report to school or his duty station. They only get 5 days of leave in transit to school or their duty station.
If graduated Coasties are going home on leave prior to training or duty station, they will work w/the SATO on base to try & match the families return flight sched.
Hope this helps. Leisa

This week's Journal was probably the most 'telling' of all. Getting a slap on the back telling you that you've all grown in a positive way is probably the best feeling (besides graduating). Us family and friends can't contain our feelings so I hope the USCG has a lot of tissues around. Have a lot of fun on your off-based liberty and DON'T GET ANOTHER TATOO.

Hey Ricky, I'm waking up early on April 30, and will be with you in my mind and exactly at 11am eastern time, I will see you in my minds eye "far far away" carrying, the USCG flag. I love you to the moon and back again an infinite amount of times. I am so very proud of you-xxoo Love Mom
