RECRUIT JOURNALS
Journals are posted to USCGBOOTCAMP by close of business every Tuesday. The first journal for each company is posted in week three of training.
If a journal entry is not posted, it means one of two things, the company is in week one or two of training or the Web master did not receive a submission.
The journals were created to provide family and friends with a peek into the lives of their recruits. The recruit historians try to document the experiences of the company not individual recruits.
We hope you enjoy reading the journals and experiencing Coast Guard Recruit Training through the eyes of our Guardians in the making.

Thank you so much for your information. It is helping me so much. Thank you for what you do and the picture of the both of you is great. It would be wonderful to see another picture of Kilo-180. Hope to meet you both on the 31st.

Thank you so much! My nephew is in Kilo-180 and I have been checking this website often. I am so glad they did so well on their physical training test!
gina29, we have a new image and post on www.uscgbootcamp.com, look under recent updates.
Again, is L-180 going to be doing any updates?
Thank you so much!! I saw it and guess what I can see my son!! Thanks again!
Gina
Well, we blew the picture up and it turns out that the young man we thought was our son wasn't after all but it is still so exctiting to see the photo. I'm sure all the other families that do get to see their son are truely grateful as we are just to know he is in there somewhere!
fltr - We have a submission from Lima today. Please understand, that I post the information that the company commanders provide. Enjoy the post.
Will there be anymore posts for Kilo 180? I would love to hear more and maybe even have another picture!
We got our form letter today and got to hear our Kilo 180 son's voice for 4 minutes to give him flight info. My eyes hurt from crying and I wish there were more pictures, but we are so proud of our son and grateful to the Coast Guard for all they have done for him. Oh my heaven, we miss him so much. This is so hard. We take comfort in knowing he is serving his country, he is here and not overseas where other families have to deal with much harder missings than we do, God bless them all, but Oh My, we miss him so much. We wish we could see him, but Thank You, Commander Thomas, and all of you mentors and instructors with all our hearts will hold. Beannacht liat Dia, God bless you, in Irish. God bless our Country, the greatest on this planet. Halloween cannot come soon enough for this Coastie Mom: HOOHAH!
Thank you so much for the photos and all the information about Kilo-180. Awesome to see all the young men and women who have made the decision to join the Coast Guard. Just knowing the our son is "in the picture" somewhere makes my heart smile. God Bless all of you!
NanceJane...your post made me cry - you just said everything I have been feeling! I am so grateful, too! And so grateful to those young men and their families who's boys end up so far from home and in another country altogether. Oh Lord...who knew how difficult this process would be! And how much harder it is for those who send their boys off to war. I am thankful for them all!
