RECRUIT JOURNALS
Journals are posted to USCGBOOTCAMP by close of business every Tuesday. The first journal for each company is posted in week three of training.
If a journal entry is not posted, it means one of two things, the company is in week one or two of training or the Web master did not receive a submission.
The journals were created to provide family and friends with a peek into the lives of their recruits. The recruit historians try to document the experiences of the company not individual recruits.
We hope you enjoy reading the journals and experiencing Coast Guard Recruit Training through the eyes of our Guardians in the making.
This is an official United States Coast Guard posting for the Public's information.
Our posting does not endorse this site or anything on it, including links to other sites,

Has anyone noticed that the U-180 journal is showing the wrong week? This started at week 4, showed week 4 for 2 weeks and now today's post shows as week 5 - they are on week 7 right?? Graduation is next week right?
Sure would like to see photos and much more information on U-180.. There have been no photos for several weeks now. What a bummer.
Good job V-180 nice detailed post.

Thank you W-180 for keeping the parents up to date on everything. I know the past weeks have been hard on alot of you, but remember there is glory at the end of this road.Soooo hang in there and keep your heads up, and feel the love from your parents and friends. We are all awaiting that graduation day!!!!!!
I am at my witts end I miss my baby girl so much.I know in my heart that she is doing well because they say no news is good news. I just want to hear that she is ok and to see her would be oh so grand for us all here.W-180. Let me says thank you now for her coming out a woman as I know she will. Maybe that is a lot of my problem. I know I no longer have a girl anymore. She is and always will be my baby. So please keep her warm and let them all know how proud we the parents are of all of them.23 days and counting!!!!!!! love you w-180
Why am I the only person that is blogging about w-180? Is there another place we can blog or speak to other parents of w-180?
Please put more pictures. Thank all of you.
To Peggy - I'm afraid that a lot of folks don't know about this blog spot... I found it by accident and find that there isn't much mention of U-180 from other parents/family as well.
I want to give you some encouragement! The time truly does fly by (just as the childhood of our SR's did). Our SR left on 18Nov and we've missed ALL the holidays for the first time ever.
The thing that helped me most was writing a letter to my SR every day. How lucky we are to have the journals to read and a glimpse into Tracen Cape May.
Hopefully you will get that first 5minute phone call soon - and I promise, you will hear a different, better person on the other end! For that we can thank the CC's and the USCG.
Hang in there, it's hard - but does get easier. How proud we are of what they are doing!

To Peggy...
I just stumbled on this blog spot myself...I wish I knew about it sooner...hang in there..our kids will be done soon...I am so glad I found this page..better late than ever...but my boy knows that is just the way his mom is!! Day late and a dollar short! LOL!
Wow, what a great site. I just discovered this. I am a mom of a young man in W-180. I am so proud of all they have accomplished! So, no Peggy, you are not alone. I just hope my son wasn't one carrying his laundry bag in the cold and rain. Oh, well...live and learn. This was our first time apart for not only Christmas but also his birthday on Jan. 27. What a GREAT celebration we will have.
W180.So proud, of all of you ! My son is so fortunate to be there. To him and all of his shipmates,
Semper Paratus !
You're almost though with recruit training and I can't wait to see you. My thanks to the USCG for making this site available.

W-180 you guys are so great! Thank you for all that you are doing! I hope you all have a wonderful New Year. To my little brother, we are so proud of you and we miss you every day. I can't wait to see you! Stay strong, all of you. Love you guys!
My son is in W180. I figured we'd all be talking about our kiddos stations. My son is going to minus degree weather in Omaha Nebraska on the Missouri River. I never realized how huge this river is!!!!! Just purchased more thermals from LL Bean. And I think it's cold here in Texas, tonight. Anyone else have thoughts about their childs placement?
to mommasmith: we too have just found out where our daughter is going. Oswego, New York. Yikes she only thinks she is cold now, OMG. Myself, I cant wait to go visit her there!!!! Good luck XRAY-180. Please feel free to post MORE pictures and LONGER journals, Thanks. I miss you. Dig Deep and you will make it.
