Family and friends of Kilo 183, welcome. My son is a Whiskey 182 grad and had a great experience at bootcamp (ups & downs but always a thumbs up in the end). There is a Facebook page for you. Just go to facebook.com and type USCG Kilo 183 in the search line and it will open. If you don't have facebook account this is a good time to start one so you can share with others over the next several weeks. Good luck to your recruits!! SEMPER PARATUS!

Good luck and thank you all for serving in this special way. Those who know how should help those who may be struggling. It's for the team (company). A special attaboy for JTH. Happy big two-oh. We are closely watching things on Doon Way. Just 39 and a wake-up. Think Survivor.

Hope you are all well past the shock and awe phase and progressing nicely through the reality portion of your training. You will be supprized how quickly you begin to gel as a unit. For JTH, the Suz got back safely from Chicago with bug stories to tell. We miss you very much and send our love.

HI! I have sent 4 letters since May 4, but have not received even one. Did someone get the letter from BootCamp? How are they doing?

Oregon Greetings to K-183.

Basic is tough, but you are well into week 3. Life should be getting easier about now. Hang tough and hang tight.

Remember, while the performance trackers might seem senseless, they really aren't. Your CCs are teaching you attention to detail. This skill will serve you well past your Coast Guard careers. All those push ups and time spent making hay? Think of how much stronger you will be when you get out. Remember when 10 push ups seemed a lifetime away? Those days are gone.

Teamwork, teamwork, teamwork.
Never leave a shipmate behind.
Never leave a shipmate hanging.
You made the cut, now do what you're capable of do your recruiter proud--because they believe in you. And so do we--your family and friends.

BZ K-183!
Just 34 days and a wake up.

Darren,

Hope you are hanging in there. We can't wait to see you on June 25th. We will be there.

Miss ya,

Hi, Coley711. I received letter just two days ago, but I've sent 4. They are all doing well. He wrome me that they can write letters only on Sundays, so don't expect too many letters. And the first Sunday they were very bussy and didn't have time for letters. I hope my comment help you not to worry.

Dear Bree,
Dad and I just got back from Key West. While we were there we toured the U.S Coast Guard Cutter INGHAM. The most decorated ship of The Coast Guard we were told. The man that was doing the tour had been retired for many years from the Coat Guard. I wish you could have seen how proud your dad was when he told the tour guide that you were starting your fourth week of boot camp at Cape May.( He was glowing with pride) The retired man told us to tell you and all of Kilo 183 that he was very proud of you and to hang in there, Then he smiled and laughed and told us that he had graduated in 1955 and could'nt believe how old he had gotten. The history that went along with that ship is amzing and we are so proud of your decision to join The Coast Guard . We miss you and can't wait for more letters. Stay Strong.

All our Love,

Mom and Dad

Well done. The sense of pride in your company's accomplishments as a team is one of the primary objectives of boot camp. That spirit will continue to grow and will sustain you to your first command and beyound. For those of you who feel it strongly, it can and does become a worthy and fullfilling life style. The PO1s and CPOs you have as CCs and the instructors are the kind of people who got it. Learn all you can from them and make them proud. To JTH, we love you and miss you and are waiting anxiously to hear where you are headed for duty. Keep up the good work.
