RECRUIT JOURNALS
Journals are posted to USCGBOOTCAMP by close of business every Tuesday. The first journal for each company is posted in week three of training.
If a journal entry is not posted, it means one of two things, the company is in week one or two of training or the Web master did not receive a submission.
The journals were created to provide family and friends with a peek into the lives of their recruits. The recruit historians try to document the experiences of the company not individual recruits.
We hope you enjoy reading the journals and experiencing Coast Guard Recruit Training through the eyes of our Guardians in the making.

My son, David, left San Diego with 3 other Coasties and will graduate Jan. 21st. They are in India 184. I teacher 2nd grade and I am going to have my class make a BIG banner this week to send to them to boost morale and lift their spirits. I miss him sooooo much and I am sending a letter every day. In the photos I've seen, it looks very tough...and the weather is just a little different than here in San Diego!
We have a facebook page for India 184. A bunch of pictures of the recruits were just posted. They were doing marching practice. Go on the page and find your coastie and join us for the next weeks while they are in bootcamp. Meet all of us who have coasties in the company! Here is the link:

Hi Andy, It is easy to hear from your letter that this is not easy. Well nothing worthwhile is. It is also easy to hear that your attitude is a winner and there is no quit in you. Just want to let all of the familes know your recruits have a great CC. MST1 Kaseman was a very important part in my companies success in Charlie 184. Hes very tough (he'll be making them do alot of fire drills and IT, you'll hear about some very sore muscles) but he really has a point to all of it and it all comes together sooner or later. Your recruits will learn a lot from him. Good luck to India 184!!

Heard from our Coastie and Niece, Ashley Larson on Christmas Day; that was the BEST Christmas present ever! She had a bad cold but we had prior warning from her mommy (my li'l sis) that she was down with cold. She was in good spirits! She and 2 other recruits were enjoying their time with the WONDERFUL folk who take them in! GOD BLESS you! She shared some of her experiences and we kept thinking how wonderful it was to hear her.
