Ryan, I am sure that you and your unit are pushing through some pretty
difficult times, but I know you are coming out the other side stronger and
better.

An ancient Japanese proverb is: “Fall seven times, Get up eight.”

Another one from FDR: “When you come to the end of your rope,
tie a knot and hang on.”

To all the recruits of Hotel 184, hang in there, you ARE our future Guardians!

We love you and miss you Ryan.

I want to express my thanks to you Brendon and all the new recruits there with you. I am very proud of all of you.

The old saying goes "We Need A Few Good Folks" and all of you fit this requirement. Help each other with any needs that exist and each of you will create a stronger unit as a whole.

Brendon we are all greatful for your strength and courage in your choice to join the UNITED STATES COAST GUARD!! I am sure you can do great things for this country. With the help of your Fellow Recruits these United States will stand strong and free just as it is now from the service of the many men and women before you.

Lennon is talking all the time but I can't understand any thing he says. He wants to walk and I belive he could but is saving that to show you. He has that stubborn streak, I think Lennon may have picked that up from you. Lennon sees your picture in his little book and gives you some of the sloppiest open mouth kisses I've ever seen!

Nicole is doing fine with the kids but is ready for you to come home. She misses you very much. Stella told me to tell you ditto.

Myself, Mom, Justin, Shamaan, New girl, Libbie, Jack, Gavin, Winky and Verna all miss you and love you.

Be strong and safe. We will be there for your graduation.

(PS) Lennon has said he would pilot the plane if I would rent one, but I think we will just get tickets on a commercial airlines and leave the driving to them. I'm not sure Lennon really knows the way that far north.

We will see you soon,
