RECRUIT JOURNALS
Journals are posted to USCGBOOTCAMP by close of business every Tuesday. The first journal for each company is posted in week three of training.
If a journal entry is not posted, it means one of two things, the company is in week one or two of training or the Web master did not receive a submission.
The journals were created to provide family and friends with a peek into the lives of their recruits. The recruit historians try to document the experiences of the company not individual recruits.
We hope you enjoy reading the journals and experiencing Coast Guard Recruit Training through the eyes of our Guardians in the making.
This is an official United States Coast Guard posting for the Public's information.
Our posting does not endorse this site or anything on it, including links to other sites,

Hello Families! Just FYI -- your recruit will not be able to view this blog. It is meant as a tool for communication among yourselves with other families who have loved ones in basic training at Cape May. Your recruits are in good hands in Mike 182!
Hang in there and be sure to write them often as that is what keeps them going. :-)
SR Kyle Chapin,
Sending you mega watts of positive energy to help you stay strong, you can do it! We are sooo very proud of you and cannot wait to be in Cape May to see you graduate. Lots of prayers are coming your way from the family and our friends. We love you Kyle. I am so glad we found this site. Very cool!
Love, Mom, Dad, Gabbi and Giulianna is here too.
Hello to the other families who have recruits in Mike 182,
So glad we found this site, did not know it existed an hour ago.
I wonder if any of you have adjusted to this first week yet, as proud as we are of our son, it has not been easy, find ourselves stopping and try to imagine what he is doing at any given time of day or night. we all knew it would be hard, just wish we could fast forward to Thanksgiving already.
SR Fountain
Thinking of you. Keep doing your best, I know you can do this! I miss you so much! Love you!
Love Shae
SR Fountain
We miss you bunches! Everyone here is keeping you in their thoughts and prayers. I can't wait to see you at graduation! Letters are coming, I just found this site today. We are so proud of you and love you lots.
Love, Mama, Daddy and Shae
SR Fountain
Wish you would have been with me this morning. I got a nice box of mullet. Auburns fixing to start and I miss you alot!
Love, your dad David
Sr Fearn,
Thinking of you every minute of the day! I keep looking at the time wondering what are you doing now! I pray for you to keep up the strength and courage that you have displayed so honorably I have nothing but love respect and honor for you Renee! Am truly proud of you! I love you! Hurry home!
Marianne,
I am also having a hard time adjusting right now. My husband is in M182 and this first week has been very difficult. We have a 6 month old daughter that is missing him lots too. Thanksgiving could not come any faster!!!
We love you SR Nazzario!
Shelby,
I hope you have family and friends to help you and keep you company while he is gone, the good news is he will be home for the holiday. is he a reservist or in active duty? My son is in as a reserve, will start college in January. He is strong, and smart, and i am not sure what exactly i am anxious about, except all the stories i have heard about the stress they are put under. I hope they all bond and come together as a unit quickly. I think it gets easier once they accomplish that. can't wait till the 3rd week when they start to post entries of their journey.
Marianne,
He is active duty. I have been on here daily waiting for something to be written about his company. I am very happy to know that he will be home for Thanksgiving just wish it could be here a little quicker well, a lot quicker!
Graduation Lodging:
After spending most of the afternoon researching lodging in Cape May(and being underwhelmed with the reviews) I opted to make a reservation at The Days Inn in Wildwood. I got the room for 71.10 with tax brings it to $81.00. I called the front desk at the hotel and was told they are 5 miles from Cape May but mapquest said 10 miles. The representative said that the hotel is vacant that week (they have 79 rooms).
So no one else wastes time, I will fill you in on whats closed for the season:
Cape Harbor Motor Inn
Capri Motor Lodge
For those with children: Star Inn: the dates grayed out when I put in Nov 23/24 so I called. It is "mostly adult only property" as the representative informed me when I said I checked the child box and thats why it grayed out.
I figured I would book a room early as rooms would be limited and at least its done. Nov.24 will be here before we know it.YAY!!

About lodging for graduation ...
The one I always recommend is The Grand or Congress Hall
http://www.grandcapemay.com/ http://www.congresshall.com/
Both are less then 5 minutes to the base. Wildwood is ok, but a little bit of a drive. Wherever you book, be sure to ask about a CG discount -- the hotels around here are so used to recruit families that they often will offer a military discount.
Keep in mind also that it may be a little early to book flights and hotel rooms for graduation. There is always the chance (especially the first few weeks) that your recruit could get rephased (medical) or reverted into a later week of training. We'll keep a positive thought though that everyone will graduate together on Nov 24th! :-)
Thanks Katie, good to know. We had heard Cape May was seasonal.
we are waiting to purchasing airfare until the 5th week per the recruiter's suggestion just in case...so being a holiday...we may be out of luck with flights and prices too i am afraid. Hoping to get a letter from our son soon so we can gage what is happening. Has anyone else heard from their recruit yet?
Thank you USCG in CM for the excellent info. Always open to more advice and suggestions.
As far as lodging goes I think the ONLY one I missed was the CongressHall...looks beautiful! Wildwood may go on its way to being cancelled!
I am optimistic but realistic in knowing that anything can happen. Think I'd rather have to cancel a room than to look for one at the last minute. Just my personal preference. Fortunately for us we are on the east coast and have the option of driving it.
Havent heard from our son yet but imagine we will eventually when he gets a second. Then again, this is the same kid who asked me what stationery was when he was looking at the "to bring" list. :-) haha
Katie
My brother in law informed me that yesterday (Sunday) was the first opportunity they would have to write. That is only if they have everything squared away though. Writing and receiving letters is a privilege they have to earn not a right. So, if they had the chance to write than I would assume we would get letters by the end of this week, early next week.
Just a thought. We already booked our tickets bc with the airline we booked with it would be a $100 fee per person if the date had to be changed. We thought that they would be a much better deal than paying $600+ a ticket or possibly not getting a ticket at all due to selling out. Thanksgiving is a very hard time of year to travel but this date is one that cannot be missed!!
Thank you for the heads up about military discounts on the hotel, I didn't even think of that.
SR Evaristus
I am very happy to find this blog. My husband is at Cape May and I am really missing him more and more everyday. I am wishing him all the best. I know that this will be hard but I am sure they will make it through. I will keep watching this blog for updated information.
Thank you USCG CM for the hotel tips, i went online to both and they are beautiful venues, the Grand Hotel is a little pricier than the Congress Hall, both are ocean front, both have availability at this time but after questioning neither one offers a CG or military discount unfortunately :-( The rooms in Congress Hall range from $99 for 2 Q beds no view, to $159 for 2 Q with an ocean view and then on up for various options. You are right Jamiella, too important to miss, and the extra to change flight if needed is a good idea, one way or the other we will be there too, looking forward to seeing our recruit and meeting all of you!
Hi to all the Families of Mike 182, I was wondering if any one knows when we will be receiving any letter from our kids! Can we write or do we have to wait to hear from them? Confused!!!!
Thanks Judy
the address is listed on this site, i sent my first letter this week end, not sure when they receive their letters, i believe it will be sunday. so go ahead per the post from USCG at CM on Oct 9th at 9:28 pm.
Good Luck OS1 Ricketts and BM2 Jansen. I know how much you loved good ole' Bravo 182!!! Have fun and I'll keep ya'll updated with everything thats going on. Good Luck to Mike 182 as well stay strong and have fun!
SN Galvin
Does anyone know- Are we NOT supposed to send homemade baked goods?
Does anyone know if there is a chance the recruits will get to call home earlier than 5 weeks out? Not talking to my husband is the worse.
Don't do it Bethany. See page 6 of the Helmsman, all food, consumables are contraband.
Do NOT do NOT do NOT send baked goods!!!
Jamie - hang in there. I know it is hard. I am missing my husband like crazy too. They will not get a phone call until week 5. As far as I know it is a very short one too.
I didn't do it, but someone else might have. I hope they haven't sent it yet.
Hello Mike 182 family & friends. No cookies were mailed so everyone is safe. I know how those one for all, all for one reprimands go. I look forward to meeting a lot of you the week of November 24.
1 week down, 6 weeks to go. Looking at the blogs and journals of other companies to get a perspective of what Mike 182 is doing this first week, I have noticed families comments that they receive their first letters on or about the 10th day after arrival. We should start to see them this Friday. Good Luck to all!
Definitely no on the baked goods! That also goes for sports score print outs or newspaper articles and musical cards. All pictures have to be shown to the CC's so make sure they are appropriate. :-)
Letters are written on Sunday's during divine hours so you should receive your first letters this week.
Hi Everyone!
I had been wondering if the recruits would be allowed to read these blogs. Thanks for clearing that up USCG in CM! We're out in Hawaii and find it will be really hard to make it way over there to Cape May for our son's Graduation. It's a once-in-a-lifetime event, so still hoping. Is anyone else from Hawaii planning to make the trip? Oh, Katie - my son also questioned the stationary on the 'to bring' list. Hope he can make use of the tablet, 40 envelopes and 2 books of stamps he decided to pack. :) Take care everyone!
Hi all,
Well we received our General Information letter today. It was postmarked Oct.9 and considering there was no mail delivery yesterday, it got here pretty quick.
USCG in CM, thank you again for the information and tips that you pass on to the families. It is most definitely appreciated.
Good luck to all....hope those letters find their way to your mailbox soon! WOW!! a reason to get excited about mail delivery
:-)

USCG in CM
Which do you recommend for flights?
Atlantic City or Philadelphia
Some recruits will be able to if they know where to look and are in the learning resource center. Some company commanders read the blogs to the recruits. Sometimes others have no clue that families are even writing them on this. I know I didn't when I was in basic and I just graduated on Sep. 11th.
SN Galvin
Diana-
Atlantic City is definitely closer (about 35 minutes) but has limited flights. It's small so it's much easier to get in and out of compared to Philly. Philadelphia airport is about an hour and 20 minutes. I would go with whichever one has the best deal! Hope this helps!
I got my introduction letter on yesterday too. I was glad to receive it. I hope to have a letter from my husband very soon.
Hi Marianne,
It's nice to hear from another parent. Our son is older, was in the Navy for 4 years & when he got out missed the ocean so he thought the Coast Guard would be a good fit. The first time they are away it is hard, but gets easier each time & also it helped me to think what a great thing our recruits are doing, how many other young adults wouldn't or couldn't choose to do it. Also we focus on when we will see them & the great adventure that awaits them after boot camp. Thanksgiving will be here before you know it. Good luck waiting.
Does anyone know what type of transportation, other than a rental car, that will be available from Philadelphia to Cape May?
Jamiella, I saw somehwere that there is bus transportation from Philly to Cape May.
Hello to Mike 182 families and recruits (if they let you see this blog). My son is just turning 19 and I couldn't be prouder of his choice for his future.I didn't realize how much I would miss him.
Can't wait until Thanksgiving. I think we will all be very thankful this year. Mike 182 do yourselves proud!!!
Hey Coastie Parent,
Welcome and it has been good to listen and chat with all of Mike 182's people. The words of encouragement are things i am thinking, the questions are some i am wondering and i am thrilled to have found this site prior to my general info letter arriving. Everyone's experiences are helpful to know. We are breathing a little easier as the time goes by, not so sure our recruit can say the same but i am hoping his letter will ease our minds some, hoping it is more than a one liner, but we will happily take what we get LOL. We are very proud to be a part of the US Coast Guard family now. So proud of our son and have great respect for the choices he's made. Can't wait to meet all of you.
Hello Mike 182 Family & Friends:
SR David Dilbeck is my son-in-law. I am a former Marine. I cannot tell you how much letters mean to recruits during boot camp. Periodically I would write letters to other young men and other branches. I am very impressed with the Coast Guard, they are very much on top of this. Write, send those cards and let them know how proud of them you are, how excited you are they are serving their country, and how much they need to listen to their Coast Guard Leaders. They will be home soon. Let's pray for them all. --JC Bowman
SR Weaver,
Adam!! It's your favorite neice in the whole wide world a.k.a. "Big Momma Sis" haha!! Today "Big Momma Kwan" is getting surgery today!!
We are thinking of you!! We love you lots!!!
I Love You,
-Alexa<3
A few questions for USCG in CM,
or anyone else who happens to know,
Can I send my recruit extra stamps? He did not take a lot with him, he was hoping he could get what he needed at the exchange/px while there. Can he get extra envelopes, stationary there etc? Not sure if it would be a problem though if I sent...
Also, once graduated, as a Reserve, does CG pay for their flight home? We are not sure if we should purchase his also when we make our arrangements and if so, does CG fly him out of Philly or can we fly him out of another airport if we choose?
thanks for any info.
Marianne,
Yes, your recruit can have stamps sent to them. They are able to visit the exchange periodically to get other items that they need including stationary and envelopes.
Transportation and travel for your recruits (active and reserve) will be set up and paid for by the CG prior to graduation.
Hope this helps!
Did anyone get a letter today from their recruit? I was really looking for something today.
Jamiella,
no letter today but there is still 2 days left for mail delivery this week!
Nothing for us either. But, then we're in Hawaii.
Is anyone else from Hawaii reading these messages? It would be great to hear from someone else whose thinking of making the long trip to graduation!
Families,
This is another good site (forum style) for CG boot camp information.
http://www.uscg.org/
I am so proud to be the mom of a USCG daughter...I have had a number of emotions this last week but mostly pride in the fact that Samantha set a goal for herself and now she is going forward with her dream...but I sure miss her beautiful smile at home...
SR Mansfield...you are amazing
Tammy (Sam's Mama)
No mail here either. I'm in Florida. I've never checked my mailbox so anxiously before in my life. Waiting for a letter is almost worse than missing my son.
We are all a psecial group now. We should all be extremely proud of our children/spouses decision to serve the US and its citizens. I hope to meet many of you at graduation. Anyone else in Florida?
Anyone know where their recruit wishes to be stationed for their first post?
We finally got a real letter from our son-in-law today. (We live in TN). To the USCG blogger- He requested a good razor (He has ethnic hair) Can we send razors? Please advise.
Woo Hoo!!!
We got it, and as predicted, it is a little more than a one liner but it is priceless in our world, we will be framing it.
My son sent a post card, says and i quote, "I am still alive, it's tough but I will make it!"
We are thrilled.
Hope you have all gotten yours or will shortly!
Yeahh..a post card...she just said she will write more when she has time and I LOVE YOU...what a thrill to open the mail today !!!!Cape May is beautiful too...
Hi Everyone,
I got a letter today too. I could not be happier. My husband is doing well. I was just so glad to hear from him. This will make the week a little bit easier.
bethanybowman,
I have been told by a reliable M182source that your recruits razor situation has been resolved. He has been issued a different kind to accommodate his skin type.
However, to answer your question, razors can be mailed to recruits.
Hope this helps!
USCG in CM
You are the best!
How did M182 get so lucky?
I have not seen any CG rep on any other company blog. But don't go anywhere, I don't know about anyone else but I like having you here!
Great news for bethanybowman to get.
This is a great blog sight. My son's girlfriend is at Cape May and it is very difficult not knowing how she is doing. She is like a daughter to us. My son got a letter yesterday and she said it was tough but that the girls she was with are nice. That is better than I expected.
Thanks for all the travel information.
Hi
Has any one gotten a letter from there son or daughter yet?
SR Cornelius,
Nanny, Grandad, and I miss you. Work hard and are looking forward to seeing and hearing from you.
I'm sorry i didn't even read any comments before i asked ! I hope I get something from her today she is the only one from California, so maybe it takes awhile to get here! I just want to know she's alright!
Judy
I'm in Floirda and have not received a letter yet either. My son hates to write so I might not hear from him until he needs me to send him something. Hang in there.
We have a USCG in CM blogging with us so I'm sure if there was anything to worry about he/she would inform us. Is everyone planning to attend graduation?
If so any interest in a little meet/greet? Maybe that is what the breakfast is for. I'm not sure we'll make it to breakfast, we are
actually staying in Atlantic City so we will be driving down the morning of graduation. Any thoughts? I know we all want to spend time with our loved ones but
I would love to meet the men/women that endured boot camp, forming Mike 182.
Coastie Mom Barker,
where in florida are you? My son told us he had met a recruit from Tampa before he got off that bus. Would that be your son? We are hoping to get up there on Monday and will also hopefully stay in Cape May but yes, we are interested in a meet and greet. Still waiting on securing travel plans...
Got a postcard yesterday. Dan't tell how relieved I am to hear from my son. He told me that when look down at his uniform he gets a big smile to see US Coast Guard on one side and his name on the other. What parent wouldn't be proud.I think it would be great to get together for breakfast Tues morn, just let me know. We are going to stay in Cape May. Is there anybody else in Washington State? Thank you USCG in CM for giving us answers to all our Questions. Your the Best!!!
SR Sullivan,
Thinking of you and praying for you constantly... I miss you! I love you more!! Be strong, be you!!
Love always,
Cate
Thank you! I will try its so hard being without her in my life! she's my little buddy and i just miss her so much, as do all of you! Ive never flown, I'm really afraid to fly! but I want to be there for her!I don't know what to do! I just feel sick inside!
Judy
marianne,
We are in FL. We are from Tampa, so maybe my husband is who your recruit is talking about? I got a letter Friday and a postcard today. It was awesome to read it! We are staying in Cape May and will be attending the breakfast prior to graduation. I am counting down the days!!!
J Fearn,
That is a tough one, it is a long flight, but done safely every day.
I hope you find the strength to face your fears. You have time to work it out, Good Luck.
nshelbyj,
i guess it could have been your husband, did he go to Montgomery first?
USCG in CM,
Did I read that correctly? The CG sets us and pays for his trip home? I thought maybe from base to base but home after graduation? I have already purchased his ticket home (SR Johnson, Chris) Please advise.
I have already purchased my husbands ticket home too.
Marianne - No, he didn't go to Montgomery first. Must not have been him.
USCGinCM - Do you know if there is anyway to find out about extra testing that was done? My husband said he had to have extra bloodwork and urine tests done in his letter and I wanted to make sure everything was ok.
Transportation is set up via the transportation coordinator. Travel arrangements from Cape May will be made during training. Right now it's to early for them to set anything up because there is always the possibility of a rephasial (medical reason) or a reversion (disciplinary reason). I'm not sure if anything can be done if you already purchased a ticket for your recruits - he/she will be able to find out later in training. It's my understanding that if you have purchased tickets for yourself they can try to get your recruit on the same flight.
nshelbyj-
I don't know anything about what happens at medical. Unfortunately your recruit will have to update you on that. They do lots of testing through this whole process so I would say try not to worry and hopefully he will give you update soon. :-)
I purchased and set up flights so that he could return on the same flight. Flights from Atlantic City to Ft. Lauderdale are very limited and compound that with Thanksgiving week. I set up and paid for his flight so that I would not have to drive an hour to pick him up at the airport. I also have a government job and days off at that time of year were an issue. I knew you had a travel coordinator on base but I would rather pay the extra fees to change the flight than wait and find out no flights were available or had become unaffordable. I had already learned that lesson the hard way.
Hello everyone with Mike 182
My son is 21, he is from Crestview Florida. This is near Destin and Pensacola beach. He left from Montgomery. Our letter was also short, but I was excited to hear from him. I pray for courage and strength for the company every night. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.
Hey everyone,
I found another website that answers alot of questions.
www.uscg.mil and click on frequently asked recruiting questions.
Oh by the way,
those of you who can't come to graduation there is also information on that site to purchase the video if you are interested.
CoastieMomBarker:
What's up with those Florida boys and their bad writing habits? I know what you mean about the frequent trips to the mailbox! I guess "No news is Good News"!
..... 11 days , I wonder what was going on inside their heads as they pulled into Cape May on the bus . Its going to be a little trying and i bet a few of them are going to be saying " thats what Mom and Dad have been trying to show me " ..... BUT on the flip side of that i bet there is more than a handful that is going to be able to say " see Mom a/ Dad i was listening to you.....even though you thought i wasnt " after all the dust settles and and clears , i know , along with all of Ya'll( lil Texas Humor here ) ' that i am PROUD of my son / daughter !
Parents/families of M182/USCG at CM-
My loved one is in K182, scheduled to graduate on 11/13- and it is encouraging to see how involved you are on this page! I do have one question for USCG at CM, I received a letter yesterday saying My recruit has the opportunity to do "Honor Guard" in Alexandria, Virginia, He didn't explain much about it besides that it would be a 2 year commitment- can you tell me more about what that is?
Well, no letter yesterday from my son but I DID receive a jury duty summons! Lucky me... Anyway, my date to report is Nov. 16. I am going to call the court clerk tomorrow and ask about getting the date changed. I am afraid that if I get accepted to a trial that it may run into the next week which is graduation week. Depending on what the clerk says,I may need to go before the court on Nov.12 to state my case as to why I need it changed. I'll find out tomorrow. Hope they see this as a valid reason to switch dates.Havent been called in 19 years...figures its this particular time.

ash bash-
Check out this website for information on the CG Ceremonial Honor Guard.http://www.uscg.mil/honorguard/
Recruits are 'recruited' to do the honor guard based on many different types of criteria like military bearing and height requirements. It is a selection process and not everyone meets the strict criteria. Best of luck to him - it seems like it would be an awesome experience.
SR Weaver,
If you are able to read this, just know that I am always thinking of you and praying for ya. I miss you so much and can't wait to see you in November. Stay strong, I hope that you received my letters. Miss you so much. 38
Love, Ashley
Well it finally cooled off in Florida. It is about 60 degrees here today. My home page is on weather.com set on Cape May now so I can see how the weather is there everyday. It says 46 today with rain so feels like 37. I hope they are issued some warm clothes. My son did take long johns since they were suggested on the list but of course he did argue with me the necessity, as I said we are from Florida so he has no idea that you could need long johns for anything. Bet he's glad now. No letter yet but I will keep waiting patiently. I live in Jupiter, Florida, about 2 hours south of Orlando and 1 1/2 hours north of Miami (on the east coast). To the lady who doesn't fly, neither do I so I can really relate to your dilemma. I am going to Cape May by train. That's right, the old fashioned Amtrak train.
We checked into the train also, but from California it would take three days to get there and she's only home for five and i want to spend every second with her:) Thank you Marianne for your encouragement!
Renee's mom!
Coastie Mom Barker,
We are neighbors. Straight up the coast from you, about an hour and a half, New Smyrna Beach. My son's girlfriend is a senior at Jupiter High. It's a small world after all.
Wow, that is incredible. Really small world. I work at Jupiter High. What is her name? Maybe I'll see her and we can commiserate. Is she the girlfriend of the son in Mike 182? Are you traveling to CM for grad? We are traveling by train. I wonder if Mike 182 recruts get to see any of our comments. If they do, SON (SR SACOO, write home. I'm worried to distraction. I know your strong and probably kicking butt. I miss you terribly. Make good use of your time, respect your cc, work as a team with MIke 182 and remember YOU CAN DO THIS!!! Your awesome. Love you, Mom!!!!
Anyone know if you can make this blog go in reverse order?I have a pretty slow internet connection and it takes forever for me to scroll down to the latest posting.
Just wondered. I'm new to blogging.
Stay strong Mike 182.
You can see by this blog page, ALL of your families/friends are behind you all the way. We know you will all be succesful. Be good to each other.
SR Casey,
Hello from Louisiana! What about those New Orleans Saints (5-0)!!
We are still waiting for a letter from our recruit. I have faith that I will receive a letter tomorrow!
I have enjoyed reading your messages and I have gather strenght from all of you.
My family is missing our recruit. Words can not express how proud we are that our son is part of the USCG.
We can not wait to meet everyone in November.
My husband and I purchased my son's plane ticket home on Oct 16th, we thought it was a small price to pay to guarantee a seat for our son on the plane trip home.
Hoping everyone stays strong.
Blessings from Harry & JoAnn Casey
Just curious, if Mike 182 has to rephase for one reason or another, what company do they rephase to? It appears they are the last on the list at the moment, I do not see an N182 listed as having formed. Hmmmm...
hi coastiemom,
I'm the senior at jupiter high. My name is Giulianna and it'd be really nice to meet you. What part of the school do you work in?
Giulianna,
I work in the Adult Ed Dept.,in the community school office just before the school store and media center on the courtyard. Come by to see me. I work 1p-10pm every night but Wed/Fri. It would be great to meet you. Hope all is well with your family and your Mike182 recruit. You may know my son, he went to Dwyer, just graduated in May 2009.
SR Seitz,
You are amazing, keep it up and I'll see you before you know it! We all miss you and love you very much!
Whitney, Mom, Gram, Alfred, and the rest of the family
SR Archard, Kristen found the M 182 blog. Happy to hear your safe and will be home for Thanksgiving.Peter
SR VanRensselaer,
Two weeks down, just a few more to go. Your strong and determined. You'll do fine. I was rememebering the forced mountain march I was on with 50lb. packs during a blizzard, when I thought of you. You're going through a similar experience (less the mountains and blizzard). I'm extremely proud of you. Bruce Barge has been asking about your experience also.
Love,
Dad
HELLO SR MURRAY!!!!
How's everything going. This is your best friends Angel and Greg. We are here cheering for you. The office and others that we train with miss you. Almost 2 weeks down, keep up the good work and motivation. Can't wait to hear from. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!
Angel and Greg
We received our postcard on Saturday! It was mailed on 10/13, so took 4 days to make it to Hawaii. My son seems very positive - he says "it's really different here but I kinda like it. Our CC is pretty nice and I'm just trying to stay under the radar." Seems like there wasn't much time to write. But, I was so happy to hear from him and that he was doing so well. We're SO, SO proud!! The picture on the post card was beautiful!
Dear USCG in CM,
Do you have any suggestions on how I could contact the other parents from HAWAII? So far, none of them have written a blog here. I know there were 4 other recruits that left here with my son. I just wanted to touch base with someone who might be traveling to NJ for the graduation. Thank you so much for your support here. You have been such a wonderful connection and a huge comfort for all of us families!!!
SR Archard,
I don't know if you get any to hear any of these but we love you and are proud of you! Love, Your Brandon family
Peter - I am Danny's mom, how are you? We are thinking of Kristen often and writing her almost every day. Do you know if anyone from Ft. Lauderdale is going to her graduation?
Finally received a postcard from my son. It was short but encouraging. I'm still beaming from the excitement. I can't stop telling everyone I see that I heard from my son, the guardian.
Well, they just started week 3, hopefully they are all doing well.
Keep up the good work Mike 182.
Parents/spouses/families keep smiling and be proud of your Mike 182 member.
Coastie MomBarker:
Hey we're neighbors! My son graduated from Royal Palm Beach High this year. Have lots of friends at Jupiter and Dwyer.
Diana,
What is your son's name?
My son is Joey Barker Sacco.
Are you heading up to Cape May for graduation? I am going via auto train. I don't fly. It seems like Mike 182 has quite a few Florida guys along with many other places.
I've seen, TN, Hawaii, Ca, Washignton. I wonder who will end up going back to their home state and who won't. I believe my son will not come back to Florida. He wants to see the world.
Coastie Mom Barker:
My son is Christopher Johnson. I think he will come back eventually, but also wants to see the world. I will be flying to Cape May along with my husband and daughter. There were about 20 recruits sworn and shipped out to various branches of the military the day he left. There was one young man from Hawaii but I imagine most were local. Seems that several others joined them in Philly.
Diana,
I know exactly who your son is. He stood next to my son at the swearing in. He was justto the left of my son in the front row.
I believe we had 11 from our area sworn in and shipped out 10/6.
Good luck to Chris and congratulations to you and your family. I know you are proud to be a parent of a coastie as am I. It will be nice to meet you at graduation.
USCG in CM,
If you are able to contact Mike 182 members; please give my son,
SR Sacco, a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY wish
from his Mom. You guys must have some kind of ritual for b-days.
He is 19 today. I am missing him terribly, this is the first Oct.20, in 19 years he hasn't been with me to celebrate. I'm sure he is happy to celebrate with such a fine group of men and women. I couldn't be prouder. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOEY.
Love ya lots,
Mom
To coastiemombarker,
I read that your son's bd is today. My daughter is with another company in Cape May and she celebrated her 19th bd on 10/6. They had her do 19 push ups while they all sang Happy Birthday to her. She enjoyed and so did the recruits as I heard from another parent. Happy Birthday SR Sacco.
hi everyone,
The journal has been posted.
Check it out, it is pretty cool to see what the recruits have been up to so far. I didn't realize what a big group they were. 89 members of Mike 182. Keep up the prayers.
Good luck to Mike 182.
Thanks coastiemombarker! I looked twice and had to go back for missing it the first couple times; didnt scroll down far enough.
Way to go Mike182!! Hang in there..lots of people supporting each and every one of you; not only as individuals, but as a unit!
Katie
Date indicates it was posted yesterday Oct. 19th, and we all missed it! Boy were we slacking LOL.
Sounds like they have been very busy. Good Luck Mike 182. Lots of people pulling for you!
Thanks Coastiemom for letting us know about the journal. I am so happy to read this. It gives me a little comfort and some insight into what my husband is facing. I love you, honey! I wish Mike182 all the best.
Marianne,
We didn't miss it. It really wasn't posted until 8:00pm tonight.
Maybe they wrote it last night but it did not hit the journal page until today. I checked all night last night and all day today. I was anxious to read it as today is my son's b-day and I was really missing him. It sounds like they are hard at wotk. But also that they are learning a lot and forming into a great team. I hope my son passed the swim test. We're from Florida, he'd better have.
GO MIKE 182!!!!
Emotions set in when I read the MIKE 182 Weekly journal I know all of the men and women are working so hard to become USCG...they sure have a lot to be proud of...
does anyone know when they will get orders to where they will be
@ Samanthas MaMa..... should be around the week 5
....been spending the past two weeks working on my sons jeep , ran into a lil snag with it tonite , was getting upset until i started thinking about what hes going through .
Does anyone know what the travel arrangements are from Philadelphia airport to Cape May (bus?). I want my son to go up for his girlfriends graduation but am nervous about him traveling alone from the airport to Cape May. He is only 18 and has not traveled alone much. Wish it wasn't Thanksgiving week or I would go with him. Plane tickets are just too much that week from Florida. Anyone have any insight?
Tdavis37,
what time and what day is your son arriving at Philly?
I have not made all the arrangements yet but I think he will be arriving around 12:00 on Monday,11/24.
My sister and I are coming in to Philly about 9 am on mon. and renting a car to go to Cape May. Maybe we can meet up with your son and give him a ride.
So glad to read the journal! It was awesome to know what they are doing every week!My son is SR Lyle Etherton and i could not be any prouder of him and all the men and women in Mike 182!!Thanks to USCG in CM for the recomendations on where to stay and where to fly into!I always wondered why everyone flys into Philly instead of Atlantic City which is so much closer! This blog is a wonderful idea and i am very grateful to have found it!Good Luck Mike 182!!!
Stay Strong! We are all thinking of you. and we all miss you!!
We can't wait to see you on Thanksgiving and hear about all of your experiences.
You can do this!!
Love you! George and Judy
I am wondering if our recruits receive their mail daily or in one mail delivery weekly. Does anyone know? One of us has been writing daily so he gets something as often as possible. We have only received the one postcard so far. One month to go until we head north to graduation! Can't wait.
This is a good question. I was wondering the same thing. I have been writing my husband everyday. I am counting down the days as well.
Hello Everyone! My son is SR Beard. I'm new to blogging and would like to kmow if someone could tell me how to get to the journal. Also, are there any pictures of M182? Can't wait to see everyone at graduation.
Love ya Michael, Mom and Dad
Beard337,
cut and paste the following, it will take you to the home page for Coast Guard Training Center and then you will see a list of journals to the right, click on Mike 182 to see their 1st one.

Hi everyone,
Received a great letter from my son today. He says it's "tough but cool". Says time is flying by and they have a lot to learn so not much time to write. He was very upbeat and encouraging. I am BEAMING!!! There is nothing like seeing your child grow into an idependent successful honorable man.
SR Sacco,
If they ever show you this blog; you are AWESOME. Write only when/if you can. I know you have little personal time so don't worry about me. It made my day to get your letter. Actually it made my world! Stay strong and keep up the good work. I sent more stamps yesterday. Can't wait to see you at graduation. You're almost 1/2 way. Love, Mom
We received a letter from our son (SR Pasoquen) yesterday. He says he's made a lot of new friends, the food is good, their CC is cool, and that they ran away from a skunk the other day! Doesn't sound like boot camp as I'd been imagining it. What a wonderful experience and beginning to an amazing future! Go Mike 182!
USCG in CM:
I received a letter from my fiance' today stating that he has not been received any of my letters. Could you please make sure that I have the correct mailing address:
SR Sullivan J.
Company M 182 / James Hall
U.S. Coast Guard TRACEN
One Munro Ave
Cape May, NJ 08204-5083
I have written everyday since OCT 4th, and have not had a "kicked back" letter. I thought he would have receieved at least one of my letters by now. He says that other guys have "stacks of letters," but he hasn't gotten one of mine. Is it practice to hold the guy's letters until they do well? He said he completed the swim test on the first attempt, but that he currently sick... I'm just wondering... I know it would lift his spirits tremendously if he would get some of my letters (if they even made it to NJ).
Thanks so much for your time!
Cate Hamilton
Debbie,
SR (LAST NAME, FIRST INITIAL.)
RECRUIT COMPANY M182/James Hall
USCG TRACEN CAPE MAY
ONE MUNRO AVE
CAPE MAY NJ 08204-5083
My son's letter told me to pass it on to family members that it has to be written specifically like this. I think maybe one of his letters took longer to get there or had difficulty getting to him.
Hope this helps,
Kim, Texas
Mom of SR CORNELIUS, C.
Cate Hamilton:
OOPS,
My comment should have been adressed to Cate Hamilton, I should slow down and not be in such a big hurry!!
Please see my previous posting on the adressing of letters to family members in MIKE 182.
Sorry, Kim
Yeah!! Finally got a letter!!It made my week to hear from him.I made the same mistake on my sons first two letters that i sent him and didnt put his last name first .So now Im wondering if he ever got them .To answer someones question about when they get mail, i read somwhere that it is Mon-Fri except for Federal holidays. Hope this helps!Cant wait to meet Mike 182 and their families!!
I do not think that they will not receive their mail if their last name is not first, take a look at the top of this page, the original post from the USCG states:
Please send letters of support to:
SR (FIRST AND LAST NAME)
RECRUIT COMPANY M182/James Hall
USCG TRACEN CAPE MAY
ONE MUNRO AVE
CAPE MAY NJ 08204-5083
and that is how we have mailed ours.
Coastie09 where are you, says you just completed boot camp, can you shed some light here with the mail?
USCG in CM,
Do you think that a recruit may not receive their mail if we don't address it with the last name first? The original post for Mike 182 just said "SR (First and Last Name)". I hope he's gotten our letters!
I have not seen any messages from USCG in CM for a few days - it must be a busy week! :)
Anyone know what happened to USCG in CM? He hasn't blogged since Oct 18. Just curious if he was o.k. and had any information for us.
I now we are all anxious to hera from our loved ones. I felt pretty good having USCG in CM on line to communicate with. It kinda made it feel like we had a direct connection with Mike 182 recruits. Well, hope everyone is hanging in there and preparing for graduation.
Keep up your thoughts and prayers. we're almost half way!
We received our first letter from our son today! YAY!
I have enjoyed this blog and the message boards at uscg.org are very helpful. There is a family forum there and has a lot of very useful information and suggestions.
We are similiar to quite a few here in that our son just turned 19(Oct. 3) and is a recent high school graduate (2009). Andrew left from Atlanta with 3 other recruits.
Look forward to the information exchange here and meeting all of you November 24th!
Katie
I am thinking about my recruit and all of Mike 182 heavily today. Weather says it is 61 degrees, cloudy and windy, and today is officially the end of their second week. I can only imagine the schedule they have had to adjust to, how much they have learned already and how far they have come from the night they got off the bus. I am wishing you all Godspeed in coming together as a company. Only 4 and a 1/2 short weeks to go! You can do it!
I have just made travel arrangements for my son and I. I have decided to come with him to graduation. We are so excited and proud of SR Kristin Archard and all of Mike 182.
As of Sunday she had not received any of our letters and we have written MANY since we got the address. Perhaps the mail is just slow from some places. I am sure they would not withhold mail as the chaplains letter encouraged all to write to help boost morale. I am sure she will get a pile this week.
Hang in there families! It is great to hear the encouraging comments from the other trainees!
driverdee - are you or anyone else interested in sharing a ride - I just looked into a rental car and they are almost $100 for one day. I would split a car with anyone who has similar travel times. My son and I are arriving Philly at 10:12 on Monday on US Airways and leaving 6:10 on Tuesday. We are staying at the Grand Hotel. Any takers?
Good night Mike 182.
SR Chapin, I am thinking about you!
Hope you had a good day.
Love
Mom
Good news today .... Received 1st letter today from son ( SR Cornelius )... short , but he seems like he was in a good mood ... 2nd good news did a bunch of work to his jeep , trying to get it back in good order for him ... I know my part is easier than what MIKE 182 is going through .... Thanksgiving will be here before ya know it....
Families of M-182
My daughter is in J-182 and when making plans to attend graduation, we thought the closedt airport was Philadelphia. Then we found out that Altantic City is about 25 to30 minutes away from the base and many times is much cheaper. Just wanted to share this info because it might make it easier for some families to make it to graduation. Congratulations to you and yours.
SR Horn's Mom
Tdavis37,
We would like to share but, we don't leave until Wed. around 1pm. Sorry. Maybe someone else can help you out.
SR Beard,
Stay strong and keep your head up, we are all proud of you. We miss you and look forward to seeing you. Love you
Love Aunt Carrie, Tyler, Jared, Izabella, Grandma, and Grandpa
Hi all,
We made all of our reservations last night. We chose to fly into Atlantic City verus Philly. Then renting a car and then staying @ The Grand Sunday to Tues.I am so anxious for Nov 24 to finally get here!Hang in there Mike 182,almost half way there!!
Hope this weekend finds everyone safe and excited for our company, Mike 182. I have spent the entire day and night thinking of all of the Mike 182 members. I am really missing my son today but praying for his strength, success and stamina. Hang in there Mike 182. You are almost half way. You have the support of all your loved ones.
Can't wait until graduation.
SR Sacco; if you ever see this, I love you, I miss you, and I couldn't be prouder. Make sure you get some sleep/rest, brush your teeth, and pass all your tests.
Wishing you an exciting upcoming week. Listen and learn from your CC and instuctors.
Proud coastie Mom
SR MERKEL
HEY JAMESON! WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! BE SAFE AND BE BRAVE, YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY!
LOVE, THE TEXANS
Mike 182, enjoy your Sunday free time. You deserve it!
I am sure you look forward to the break, but please do not forget to write home.
Mike 182 families, it is time to sit down again to write your recruit those words of encouragement posted here daily. Keep those letters circulating :)
It should make the last 4 weeks go by quickly, I am hoping. Most of us will be heading up to Cape May about that time. Look forward to the meet and greet.
SR MERKEL
JAMESON,
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK- YOU ARE DOING GREAT
WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!
WE MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU!
LOVE, DECLAN (AND THE REST OF US TOO)
SR. Fearn,
How are you girl? Training is not the same without you. Miss you a ton. I've been talking with your mom, she's doing pretty good. We are all very excited to hear how you are and how everything is going. You are such a strong woman I know you are doing well and learning a ton. Keep on working hard, everything will pay off my little king of the mat! ; )
SR Archard Mike 182-Spent the weekend at your grandmother's house Kevin had the weekwend off and we went to the dog track Saturday. Kevin looks good, his biceps are large, he seems to have grown taller, I think his voice has changed. He read your comment about boot camp being tougher than Eagle Academy and he thinks not. Are you reading these massages? Kevin thinking of joining CG, sent him a bunch of stuff from the CG site.Peter
Another week begins for Mike 182.
As my son said in his letter:"days are long and the weeks fly by" I'm not sure about the weeks flying by on this end though! Got my jury duty moved so that is a good thing with not needing to be concerned with the timing of that and graduation so close together.
Wishing all of the recruits in Mike 182 continued success as their training continues over the next 4 weeks. Looking forward to meeting you at the breakfast meet and greet on the 24th.
...... I was searching around on another CG forum site and came accross where some videos were posted on youtube about basic training and other things . there was even a few videos of companys marching ...Foxtrot 182 , golf 182 , hotel 182 , and india 182 .... nothing about our Mike 182 , but maybe soon ........
Stay Strong SR Cornelius !!!
4 weeks from today!
Getting our flu shots so we do not even think about being sick that week. Nothing will keep us away from Cape May on graduation day!
Mike 182 is almost over the hump and the back end should surely fly by. Posting another journal tonight!
Brack,
Please post those web pages when Mike 182 marches.
The latest journal has just been posted! Be sure to check it out. And I just read Golf 182's journal- they graduated last week- it is very encouraging and has made me even more excited for Mike 182 and their special day (4 weeks from today!)
woo hoo, sounds like they had a pretty good week! They are getting to the interesting "stuff" and coming together as a team! Mentioned that good humor was had by all, so glad to hear there are some laughs to be had. Good for the soul and for the bonding process.
USCG in CM,
any chance of getting photo's in our journals?
Hi Bill and other Mike 182 families,
I haven't seen USCG in CM respond to any questions lately. Maybe we lost our blogger contact. But as you mentioned, if anyone is monitoring this I'm sure we would all REALLY appreciate a picture or two from Mike 182 company. This blog has been a great support for us all. Can't wait to get another letter and soon a phone call.
By the way, does anyone know if any of the Mike 182 recruits were reverted or rephased? I noticed the new journal says 86 recruits but we started with 89. Wondering what happened to the other 3. Hope everyone is ok. I'm assuming we would be notified so I won't worry too much. Good luck to everyone in Mike 182 company and families. We are almost 1/2 way there.
See you at graduation.
SR Sacco, if you see or hear about this; Keep up the good work. You can get through this and be very proud of yourself and all of Mike 182!!!!!
Finally we are MIKE-182, not a riff-raff group of recruits “playing Coast Guard”.
Those were sweet words to this Dads hears.
Hang Tuff Mike 182 , we are all behind Ya'll !!!!!
SR Beard,
Don't know if you can see this but we are proud of you and hang in there. MIKE-182 keep kickin' butt and pay attention to your instructors. Can't wait to me all the guardians and their families.
Love ya SR Beard, Mom, Dad, Caitlyn and David
Coastie MomBarker/Bill:
You noitced the numbers too? It's been cold and rainy could be just rephasing. The comment about not being riff-raff no longer was also sweet music to my ears, but then again I knew they could do it. Getting 86 recruits to do things together is a feat in itself. Look at November 182- only 66 recruits. Can't wait till the 24th!
Thinking of SR Mansfield,S this morning, waiting for the mail to come, it has been a week from the last letter. Everyone that has received mail from her says it is all positive. Happy to hear they are all learning so much. Mike 182 you just keep going forward...Lots of prayer's are going out for you
SR McCurdy Just think how quickly the last 3 weeks have gone by! I've made my flight reservation for your graduation as they are filling up quickly and getting more expensive. Should I make a flight reservation for you to fly home with us on Wed. for Thanksgiving? It will be more difficult and expensive the longer I wait. How are others planning their travel arrangements? Is there someone on base that will make those reservations? Will you get a service discount? Does anyone have the answers? Missing you, can't wait to see you. Love,Mom and Frank
ALICE McCURDY:
I found this info on the Coast Guard website:
MY RECRUIT CALLED ME AND ASKED ME TO PURCHASE PLANE TICKETS FOR HIM/HER TO COME HOME ON LEAVE AT THE CONCLUSION OF BOOT CAMP.
We highly recommend that recruits work with the SATO travel agent that is located here at the training center to get home and to their new unit.
Since the recruit has limited phone privileges and time, it’s easier on all parties if the recruit works directly with the SATO travel agent.
However, family members who are attending the graduation and have already purchased tickets can send their recruit the information by mail. The recruit can then work with the travel agent to get on the same flight, if it is available.
Hope it helps.
Christopher's Family,
On Oct 15th, the USCG in CM blogger that was commenting on this site with us at one time did say that...
"Transportation and travel for your recruits (active and reserve) will be set up and paid for by the CG prior to graduation."
he or she also said in a later post that they will work with your recruit to try to get them on the same return flight as the family if possible, to sent that info to your recruit. This being so close to the holiday it may be difficult to find seats on same flights. We are still waiting to make arrangements, don't want to have to buy those tickets 2x!
Good luck.
SR MERKEL
HEY JAMESON,
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK YOU ARE DOING GREAT!
WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU.
LOVE, KATRINA
SR Weaver,
ADAM!!! guess what!! my dad is my indoor field hockey coach!! haha i think that is sooooooo friggin funny!!! hhaha! we are all thinking of you every single day and wondering how you are doing!! we love you and miss you sooooo much!!!
Love Your Favorite Neice!!,
Big Momma Sis!!!(; <33333333
Hi all! Got another letter from my son today and he sounded great! He said he did almost rephase due to a fever! That might be why they lost a few of their classmates! I've heard rumor that we will get our first phone call from them as soon as they get their orders for their duty station.YEAH! I cant wait to find out where he will be stationed.Hopefully it will be close to home for the first assignment!Only 3 weeks and 5 days left.Good luck Mike 182!!
Hi all;
We also received a letter from our son. He sounds awesome!! He said that "the morale of our company is a lot higher than in previous weeks and its only getting better". GO MIKE 182!!!
Thursdays have now become my favorite day of the week because thats when the Cape May mail arrives. He did ask for us to "please" (3 times) to bring him a diet coke for him to have after graduation. I think we will be able to manage that small detail!
Thanks Alina for the countdown!!!
Soon enough we will all be gathered in Cape May to celebrate with pride and joy this long awaited day!
A Huge Texas hello to SR Rae and MIKE-182.
It's great to know this blog is here. It helps to feel connected!!
We are so proud of you and are counting down the days!! You are half way there...Wahoo!!!
We Love you, Mom, Grandma Belle, Brady and Benjamin.
I finally got the nerve and booked our flight reservations. We are counting on our recruit graduating on time. It will be so crowded in the friendly skies that week but so worth it. I sent a copy of our flight schedule to our recruit, SR Dilbeck, so hopefully he can get the SATO travel agent to match our travel arrangements. It is getting so much closer. Cape May looks beautiful from all the pictures I have seen. We can't wait to see him and everything else..
Well , received another letter today , actually it was to his lil brother. He has been waiting on his ( he writes to him every wednesday nite ) Thinking about the airline travel that week is giving me a headache . I am upbeat about what is said in M182's journal . Reading other companys , some of them have had their share of problems it seems . Hopefully our guys ( and Gals ) are pulling together and working hard as one on every project , task , and assignment . Cant wait to read their next journal entry .
God Bless Texas &
God Bless MIKE182 !!
Anyone know when to expect our 1st call?
I think it is next weekend but I don't know if it should be Saturday or Sunday.By then, they may know where they will be stationed for their 1st duty. It is getting really exciting. Can't wait until graduation. Time is flying. I hope all Mike 182 company is doing well and striving forward.
My letter yesterday was so great...SR Mansfield sounds very happy with the way things are going for Mike 182 One thing she asked me to do was to send her a copy of the Journal pages, she would like to read them, so just wanted to let you know maybe your recruits would like to read them as well. I booked my trip for the graduation this morning...I will fly into Philly on 21st and drive into Cape May on the 22nd staying at Congress Hall...So excited to see my girl and all of Mike 182
Coastiemombarker
They should get to call on Saturday of their fifth week. They have about two minutes to talk so stay near your phone. Our son is ahead of yours in Kilo
Samanthas mama...
In regards to your daughter requesting the journal page prints; I would be hesitant to do so until cleared by someone in command at the training center. What we think might be okay to send may not be okay to send in the commanders eyes. It may be okay by them; it may not be. See USCG at CM posting re: some items NOT to send and they seemed pretty harmless to me.
Maybe someone out there knows if it is okay to print and send the journal pages. I dont but just erring on the side of caution for what its worth.
Katie
Samantha's Mama
That was tried in my sons unit which is Kilo and they were told not to send anything including pictures, newspaper clippings, copies of journal entries, musical cards or care packages with food. Your recruit does have access to a computer if they choose to use it when they earn their on-base liberty usually in week six.
Katie,
My recruit requested the journals also, however I will not send it for fear the whole company may have to pay. I also saw the posting that newspapers, etc. where a no-no. Please reconsider.
Sorry,
That last comment should have been directed to samantha's mama.
Hello families of Mike 182,
Received a nice, long letter from my son today. It sounds like Mike 182 is starting to learn some exciting new stuff (Seamanship and Firefighting)and make some life long friendships. My son says he has made alot of new cool friends. (He just turned 19)He didn't tell me where he is thinking of requesting on his "dream sheet" but did tell me he chose BM rating.
He is looking forward to getting his orders for his first assignment. I can't wait to talk to him. It should be within a week or so, I think. Oh, by the way he did mention that they did not receive any mail until Oct 21st.
Keep sending those letters, it sounds like they all look forward to mail delivery. Good luck and looking forward to graduation. Only about 3+ weeks left to go.
Hey Moms of Mike 182, I just found a blog from an Osacar 182 Mom.
If you look at the blog from Oscar 182 and click on the comment from Terri it takes you to the blog she created for Moms with recruits.

Hello,
My daughter is in Lima 182 and I got my call today @ 10:46 AM CT. I was told it would probably be the afternoon but it was in the morning so I am glad I had my phone with me. She called my cell with her pre-paid phone card. If I were you, I would just keep my cell with me beginning Thursday of next week, just to be safe. From what I understand, it could be anytime from Thursday to Saturday, depending on when they receive their orders. It was a short, 3 minute phone call, emotional but good. Good luck!
Terri (SR Splawn's mom Lima182)
Debbie: SR Max Richardson is my son and I will be traveling from Hawaii (Kauai) for the graduation.
I am renting a car and a room in Cape May on the 23rd.
Anyone wanting to share costs, please let me know.
(It's very expensive for me traveling from Hawaii.)
My son sent a letter saying that he must have his wisdom teeth removed. I am wondering if this will take place during boot camp? Surely not...
SR MERKEL,
HEY JAMESON HAPPY HALLOWEEN
I HOPE ALL IS GOING WELL THERE. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK YOU ARE DOING GREAT! WE ARE ALL SO VERY PROUD OF YOU. WE MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU. WE WILL SEE YA SOON.
LOVE, KATRINA
