My son is in N180 and I can only assume that we parents too have to earn the privilage of information. Our time will come. I appreciate reading about other units. It helps me understand what my child might be experiencing and how through my letters I can support this process.- Thank you!

I am happy to say that we spoke to our son last night!!!It was so good to hear his voice. He will be stationed in Maryland, which is good. He will only be a few hours from home. He is so proud of his Company. He has made lots of friends, and has learned in 8 weeks what some do not learn in a lifetime. I am grateful to the CC's, CO's and USCG for the outstanding efforts at Cape May. Please know that you have made a difference in more ways than you could ever know. We are proud to be part of the USCG family. Lima- 180 stay strong and proud!!!See you Nov 7th.

Finally spoke to my son. What a relief, although, I'm pretty happy with the letters I've received - priceless. I wish I could receive a letter a week via "snail-mail" all the time. I couldn't be more proud of my son, or more thankful to the CG for this experience. I can tell these young men and women have been given tools they will use throughout their lives, wherever they go. Can't wait to see the confident young man that's been writing me such wonderful letters. It won't be long now...

The pictures and blogs are great! talked to my son Sat.. He says the companys really coming together. He was eager to tell me that several of his friends got orders for our home state, Rhode Island. He requested pictures of the CG stations and the area around them so that his friends would get a look at their new digs. Rhode Island is beautiful, interesting and a great place to be stationed;
Unless of course you grew up here and want adventure and new challenges....like my child who will be in Seattle,Wa. (: :(

Thank so much for the journal updates! Our son is in Quebec 180.
We look forward to seeing their journals when they are up and going.
Even still, being able to read the other journals helps us gauge what our son will doing each week.
