Welcome aboard! I am the Mom of a Mike182 graduate. (Nov 26-seems like yesterday) The recruits don;t get to see these comments until about week 6 or 7, and only if they take the initiative to look for it online when they get computer privileges. WRITE TO THEM EVERYDAY! My son said "mail" was the highlight of their days/nights/weeks. They all get very close and share news/stories with the entire company. Stay strong, be proud. Any questions, feel free to email me. coastiemombarker@comcast.net

I was so relieved to hear from you and to find out that they put you back on active duty. What a rough start, huh? If being in bootcamp is not difficult enough, starting it with surgery will certainly liven it up! You are the most determined, strongest soul I know...I am so incredibly proud of you and your commitment. You are going to learn so much from these experiences. It maybe difficult to see the positive lighter side of it right now, but I know you are being watched over. You are so strong and capable... thank you for the inspiration. Luckily, you were put back into the fold without too much of a wait. I'm sure your new company will be a tower of support for each other, just as before. Remember: try your hardest even when you think no one is looking, never doubt yourself or what you can accomplish, and be proud of what your doing. We can't wait for March and to see you again! Love you so much!

Shea, we look at the weather daily and feel for all your unit in these frigid temps. I am sure you all have seen plenty of snow shoveling. Granddad says it sounds as though you are having more fun in boot camp than he did, oh so many years ago, in the desert in August! We anxiously check facebook daily, usually several times to see any news about Victor 182. We are learning more and more about life in the Coast Guard. We love you and can't wait to hear more news from you. Stay strong and keep smiling!

Reading the weekly journal I see our son is taking a strong leadership role:"Our identity is perceived as being sloppy, careless and boneheaded. Some would say it smells like a frat house." I am happy for him, being one of the 3 who have never experienced snow, that he is getting what he kept asking for and in a really big way. I hope for everyone's sake though that he did not go off with our family's heirloom monkey's paw. Missing the little bonehead. Have to find someone now to make me go to the gym. Love, Dad.

Archer has finally adjusted...You are no longer in danger of having a fur blanket to come home to! But I could have really used him as a blanket this last week...I know it for a fact that you took the Calif sunshine with you! It wasn't too long of a rain this last week, only a couple days.
Your brothers had their Valentines parties in school today.Casey was able to choose one person to make his Valentines card to and he chose you..He can't wait for you to see it. Garrett colored his fire engine for you too.
March is getting closer and closer. We have our tickets and hotel done. Now we're just waiting on you!:)
Stay warm...How do those cold weather bases sound to you now? The good news is you can make a MUCH more informed decision than before! Remember, only eat the white snow!!
Keep being strong and supportive for each other...You guys are on your way. Just 4 weeks to freedom and an awesome career (and a smokin hot uniform the women will love!)
Love you SO much.
