SR Webb,

We had Tornado Warnings here in So Cal today. I could have used a good Seaman Recruit to clean out my landscape drains.

I know it's hard, but usually anything worth having takes hard work to earn. I know you will be successful in the Coast Guard!

We think and talk of you often. We are busting at the seams with pride!

Love,

Dad.

I see some of your shipmates are from CA as well. I trust you are getting along well with your training and hope you have at least a little chance for some fun along the way. I'll send you a letter with some stamps, that will make it a little easier to write some letters. Inquiring minds are interested. Laura misses you and wants to write, so now that we have your address I'll help her to get a letter off to you. "Baravo Zulu" on your hard work so far and take care. Love Dad.

SR Levy,
Here's a weather report from Hawaii. It's Sunday, 8:43am and the vog is thick. It's been that way for three days now. Having no tradewinds blowing doesn't help. We're not used to seeing all this gray skies. Normally it's sunny, blue skies with tradewinds blowing. It's not even a good day to go to the beach(catching the waves and all) which you would normally be doing at this time. Still, it sure beats the weather you're in RIGHT! Was it a cultural shock for you? (Seeing snow and all for the first time)Grams and Dad sent you a letter; Seth will be blogging you soon. All the family and friends have your address and should be writing/blogging you soon. You're in our prayers every day. Stay focused son. We're so proud of you. Love you, Mom.

Glad to "hear" from you - at least your writing on the envelope - LOL. Been checking in on this website waiting for your company to pop up. Watching your weather there too and, believe it or not, you're warmer there than we are. You're missing some rotten weather. However, we will get our revenge over the next few days as our temps rise and yours goes down ;-) Surf is huge, but the weather was too bad to call Mavericks. Critters are fine and enjoying your bed while you're gone. Miss you and looking forward to getting an envelope with your writing on the outside AND a letter from you on the inside....Sending big HUGS(and slurpy kisses from the dogs - they really miss you too)

Well, its the Colts and Saints in Superbowl. I would really like to see Drew Brees get a ring. Love you babe, there is not one day that I don't think of you. Hard to believe its already the beginning of week 3. Everyone is always asking how you are doing and I tell them "I don't know" but I can feel it in my heart that you are doing great! It has been two weeks and you're a quarter of the way done! We're counting down on the calendar daily. I knew this would be hard on the recruits, but I never guessed how hard it would be on the families. The gaps between info is almost torture for us. But we know you are the one doing the hardest work. We are so very proud of you. I can't wait to see you in six weeks! Stay strong, be supportive for each other in there. You will be a part of an awesome team when this is done. (Calif. has had lot's of rain since you left - I'd say you took the sunshine with you except that I know how much colder it is out there!) Stay strong and stay focussed. Know that we are thinking of you. Don't be discouraged if you have not received letters yet as I got back the first one I sent to you as it could not be delivered. The address on the form letter differs somewhat from that posted on this site. So I will resend the letter with the address from this site and I will do the same with the other four that will probably also come back. We love you and hope to hear from you soon.

SR Brett Hughes,

What a thrill to talk with you!!!
Even though, you sounded terrible. We are so proud of you! You're a tough old bird! HA! HA! Your Dad and I knew you would do fine because you have the determination. You have always accomplished what you have set out to do and we were sure this wouldn't be any different. That is one of your great qualities! We miss you and can't wait to you our son as a graduated SR. Hope everyone in your company is feeling better. Our prayers are continuing that all will soon recover from all their illnesses, but especially our son!!! Only a week before we fly out to see Joanna and be with you!! We can't wait!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!!
Then, besides getting your call--we were surprised with a note from you. I have shared it with Lori and Joanna. Stay strong and please start feeling better.
LOVE and PRAYERS,
Mom and Dad

To all Uniform 182 GRADUATES...Congratulations!!What a celebration it will be!
I know this is probably a little past due, but I saw the receiving of colors video on this site...I don't know if you were aware that there was a longer version of this video where you can actually see the recruits faces on you tube. Try "U-tube_U182_short-QT-Master.mov"
My son was originally in U182, but after starting boot camp w/surgery, etc,he is now in X182 with 3 weeks left! Ouch! I know he's thinking of you on your graduation today. If you were lucky enough to get through without a reversion or medic., give yourself a pat on the back! Your hard work and dedication helped you to earn this.
A proud Coastie Mom!
