Many family members and friends have been watching the news and know that Cape May, N.J., and the surrounding areas have experienced a high volume of snow and power outages. This note is to let you know that the base does have power and recruits are continuing with normal operations.

RECRUIT JOURNALS
Journals are posted to USCGBOOTCAMP by close of business every Tuesday. The first journal for each company is posted in week three of training.
If a journal entry is not posted, it means one of two things, the company is in week one or two of training or the Web master did not receive a submission.
The journals were created to provide family and friends with a peek into the lives of their recruits. The recruit historians try to document the experiences of the company not individual recruits.
We hope you enjoy reading the journals and experiencing Coast Guard Recruit Training through the eyes of our Guardians in the making.
This is an official United States Coast Guard posting for the Public's information.

USCG BOOT CAMP Website updater;
I just read the Recruit Blog for Victory 182 dated 2/7/10, it was a bit alarming as it states the entire center is out of power. Please confirm. Please let us know if this was a typographical error and if not if power has returned.
Thank you concerned parent of X-Ray 182 Recruit.
Thank you for the up date.
when are we going to get an update on the new recruits that went in on Feb 9 Thank you
Will you be posting information for the recruits who arrived on February 9? We are anxious to pass along the address to friends and family of our recruit.
Thanks!
Thanks for the letters Cooper. Shoveling snow is hard work, I know. See you for Graduation. Grandma

when are you going to post something about the recruits that arrived on Feb.9, 2010? I have yet to hear anything. Are you going to send out the post card with the mailing address on it?

Sure would LOVE to hear about the recruits that arrived 2/9. I'm thinking they will be named the "Yanke" group (since the last one was X-ray and it appears it's all alphabetical). Signed, anxious Mom.
Would love to hear about the recruits that arrived 2/9. Thanks.
Thanks for the update but I was concerned about the February 9th recruits? Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks for having this web site.
Looking forward to hearing news about recruit company that arrived on February 9th.
Thanks for what you do!
We miss you Sam Lane. I know you are strong and will get through this. It will soon be over and we will be there to congratulate you on graduating.
Daddy would be so proud. We are more than you can know.
Love you can't wait to see you again.
Please give us your recommendations as to hotels to stay in the area regarding Graduation..... Thanks, TWEBB

This is where we are booking. It looks clean and modern and the price is reasonable.

We could have stayed on base but for $30 difference this is nicer and we don't have to clean and strip beds and wait for an inspection. Plus check in and out is not restricted to certain hours.
SR SALCIDO, we are proud of you, continue to stay strong! Remember all the hard work you did to prepare yourself (your circuit traning, running, weight lifting). You can do anything you put your mind to! X-Ray 182 I am praying for you! Coastie Mom, Michelle
We are also staying at La Mer, seems nice and is reasonable.
Congratulations Cataincal
