Chief Petty Officer James Thomson, the lead company commander for Bravo 181, provides verbal directions to his company today to ensure they understand specific formation commands.
Bravo 181 is currently in their third week of training.
I am so excited to hear that B181 is doing well and making progress!! I was also excited to see pictures!! I love you SR Witherington!! Stay strong and I will see you soon enough.
It was so good to see the back of Brandon R.'s head in the picture! I think the journal was written very well, and it sounds like everyone is being positive and that they are doing well. I know it must extremely stressful for those men and women, but BRAVO-181 can and will do this, and I can't wait to see everyone on graduation day! Hurry up March 20th!!! Love you Brandon!
YEAH!!! I am so glad to see pictures of Bravo 181 & get an update on their progress. We are so PROUD of you SR Lovelace. Keep up the good work & we can't wait to see you on March 20th! Love You!!
I see that I'm not the only one with Brandon in Bravo 181...We do have something in common though it seems..we're both very proud of our guys..and we both love them to pieces...
We sure do Channon! I got a letter from him today and I couldn't have been more excited. He said the entire company is doing really well and that they might get to use their phones sooner than they thought!! Go BRAVO-181!!!
Great to hear they are doing well. I would love to see a video of them like Yankee has. We are so excited for them all for doing so well with such a big company. Go Bravo 181. We love you Brandon R.

PrGFofBR....I got a letter too! I even received a Valentine's Day card (I believe he arranged for it to be sent before he left)Brandon said it's been really tough and that it's harder because the unit is so large. I hope you're right though about the possibility of phone calls. That would be awesome just to hear their voices. 3/20/09 is just around the corner..woohoo!!
This not your granddaddy Brandon M. Time is flying and before you know it it will be 3/30/09 SON. Yo son try and write you know I miss you. LOL aunt Carol
The photos posted this week of Bravo 181 are just awesome...caught a glimpse of our daughter in one...our thoughts and prayers are with all of Bravo 181...last week was a tough one, but we're all behind you, each of you...stay strong and be one.
OH MY!! What a week you have had!! All of us "bloggerrs" need to keep the good wishes going their way as I do believe they need it!! Thomas Luke, we know you are doing a fine job as a squad leader. Starting your 4th wk today!! We love you son, write when you can. Mom & Dad
Everyone is doing great. Stay strong and always give it a 100%. SR Richard Rust I love you and your making your daughter and I so very proud! Hang in there everyone!
Journals are posted to USCGBOOTCAMP by close of business every Tuesday. The first journal for each company is posted in week three of training.
If a journal entry is not posted, it means one of two things, the company is in week one or two of training or the Web master did not receive a submission.
The journals were created to provide family and friends with a peek into the lives of their recruits. The recruit historians try to document the experiences of the company not individual recruits.
We hope you enjoy reading the journals and experiencing Coast Guard Recruit Training through the eyes of our Guardians in the making.
