Hey MaxMom~ First, congrats on your new Coastie. My son Matthew is in India 181. His little brother's name is Max. Is your Max your Coastie's little brother too? Or is Max your Coastie? Do you or anyone have any info on if the recruits will get to read these blogs and when. Hope you and all India 181's loved ones are holding up well!!
Hi Foxtrot families, That was a great blog! I am so proud of you son and your shipmates! Middle of week 5, we find out where you go this week. I have been looking at all the unit sheets for every pick on your dream sheet... You did good! Now lets find out where you are headed. Go hard or go home! Foxtrot-181 Macie
I am hoping that all the Coastie's in India 181 are doing well. We look forward to hearing about everything! Got the letter today with an address so... mail will be on its way!
WOOOO HOOOOO!!!! Can see my daughter in two of the pictures. Yeah that is my girl!!! Go Delta181. Week Seven is 1/2 way gone. 8 days to Graduation.
Suzie QZ- No the recruits do not get to see anything. The only communication from the outside world is the letters you send. Keep in mind they can read all the posts as soon as they are out.
MaxMom~ sounds great! Be glad to talk w/someone that understands the emotional bootcamp the moms (and loved ones) are going thru. I'll bet Matthew befriends Max immediately..he'll be glad to just call someone "Max". He and his brother are very close.I'll be thinkin' about you and our boys!!
My husband in Delta 181 said something about maybe sending me an email, do they have internet access now? Also, I will be at graduation, am I allowed at the "Parent's Brief" even though I am not a parent? Go Delta! I love you baby!
Possibly on liberty if they go to a local library or something, they might gain access to a computer and internet at that point. But no, they have no access to the internet while in boot camp.
For those of you that don't know about the site try www.uscg.org it is a forum with parents, spouses, girl & boyfriends and tons of AD members. It's a tightknit bunch that are always up for chatting and sharing experiences and woes!
I look forward to seeing some of you on the forum! My son is in Foxtrot-181 and we are awaiting news on orders this week! Woo-hoo!

Anyone here a Hotel Company parent? I have been so excited to see the journal postings and just discovered this blog. Can anyone tell me where else to go for information. Macie you said you have been looking at the units sheets - where would I find that info? Thanks.
At breakfast we will be the group that looks similar to this. Big guy 6'5" 280lbs short hair (whats left). Wife 5'5" blonde hair to the collar. Brother 5'11" 150 hair is high and tight (Marine cut)in a Navy ROTC uniform (he will present to his sister). Boyfriend 6' 180 short blonde hair. At the parents breif we will not have our son with us as he will go to the VIP brief.
Have a safe trip and hopefully the weather will at least be nice in the morning for us. The weatherman is calling for some wind and thunderstorms with a 70% chance of rain on Friday. Mike
Draebear The journals are posted on www.uscgbootcamp.com there is also www.uscg.org where a lot of people post and get answers to questions. Enjoy the postings, the time flies, we are headed to Cape May this evening for graduation on Friday. Mike
Hi Draebear, my son is in H181. As several have pointed out you can go to www.uscg.org and there is the Coast Guard Family forum. I started a thread for H181 but no one with family in H181 has posted. I'm kind of surprised, but if you want to touch base I'm out there as Atallfishtale. Congratulations to Delta 181! I'm looking forward to May 1!
We can't wait to get a letter from our "Coastie" in India 181! We pray for you and all the I181r's and are exceptionally proud of your dedication and hard work. We can't wait to see you at graduation!
Journals are posted to USCGBOOTCAMP by close of business every Tuesday. The first journal for each company is posted in week three of training.
If a journal entry is not posted, it means one of two things, the company is in week one or two of training or the Web master did not receive a submission.
The journals were created to provide family and friends with a peek into the lives of their recruits. The recruit historians try to document the experiences of the company not individual recruits.
We hope you enjoy reading the journals and experiencing Coast Guard Recruit Training through the eyes of our Guardians in the making.
