Brandon R., you and the rest of B181 are almost there! I know you all did well on your tests, and everyone is cheering for you back home! I can't wait to hear your voice again on Saturday! I hope all of you enjoy your off-base liberty...it is VERY much deserved! 7 days and a wake up Bravo!!! We will see you all March 20th! I love you Brandon!

To answer the question about seeing family on base leave week 7...please respect the advice/directions given by your recruit. My eldest daughter was in basic in 2004. She was told no family visits. Since you received a letter from your daughter letting you know they were not allowed, I believe the same guide lines apply. While it is hard not to drive the 2 hours to see them, we need to respect the information the recruit is passing along. This is my second time with USCG basic training procedures, the CC's know what is best for the company. As they have finally become a team we should do nothing to jeopardize that relationship. Hold out one more week, your recruit will thank you.

Dear Families & Friends of Bravo 181...we were so fortunate to be at the TRACEN gate when our recruits marched from their hall and through the gate for off base liberty! The were chanting together and they all looked WONDERFUL marching, standing at attention, and then they marched in sinle lines around the corner to the many waiting taxis...just wanted to let you all know they all look so very proud!

The past 8 weeks have been tough but worth every minute of it and the results will be on display Friday morning, March 20, 2009. Congratulations to my grandson, Brandon R. and the team of Bravo 181. Just want to thank all of you for helping me read so many positive thoughts, well wishes and words of encouragement to our recruits in Bravo 181...they all helped me, the Mom, hold on til the next journal was posted on Tuesdays, or til her next letter came in the mail...not only do we have wonderful children, husbands, wives, grandchildren, etc. in the USCG, but each and every recruit in is fortunate to have us, the families of Bravo181, standing behind them 100%! See you all on Fri. Best Wishes, Pat

Well everyone, it has been a long eight weeks, and I could not be more excited about flying to NJ with the family in the morning! In less than 48 hours we will all be reunited with our loved ones, and will be able to show them how proud we are of the men and women they have become. Having the journals, pictures, and comments from other families has made this separation bearable, and I am so thankful. Brandon R., I love you so much, and can't wait to see Friday at 11am, sharp! Congratulations to all of BRAVO-181!!!
