SR Mills,

Half way there guys!! Sounds like there are still some learning curve issues. That's o.k. as long as you are all trying as a team and helping those that need the extra help. As much as I hate to quote old addages, "you are only as strong as your weakest link". Don't think of it as a weak link though, just think of it as someone who needs your help. Someone who might be the one to help you later on and someone who might be the one to save your backside down the road.

Looks like this week will be pretty busy with mid terms and fitness testing. Good luck 181. Study hard and give it your all!!

Not much has changed around here. Steady work grind and hot weather. Leo misses you and so do a lot of other folks. Everyone asks about you and your training. They all look forward to seeing you after graduation.

Good luck this week!! We'll be checkin in on the blog. Maybe you'll be able to read a few when time permits.

SR Hunt and Y-181,
Today I attended the local area Coast Guard Picnic. As I look around I saw you each there in the family. I don't know when I have been so proud. You are the next brick in the bulwark of defense and life saving tradition that is known around the world for over 200 years ~ You are Coast Guardsman!
I read your journal. Please indulge me as I offer this advise. Great men and women in the past have fallen due to arrogance, complacency, and mental exhaustion. Let him who stands tall take heed, lest he falls.
Be humble! Be a team! Be Always Ready! You are the only YANKEE 181: there is no other. You are making history. Make it good.
Do this!!
I love you,
dad

SR Meade - Roscoe, Yankee 181's journal and your letter sounded like you guys have had a really rough week and are a little bit discouraged. Keep your chins up and your eyes on the goal - GRADUATION - only 13 more days! We know you can do it.....I hope the H1N1 virus and all other sickness has skipped Yankee and that you are all doing well.

Roscoe - You're almost there...you are a leader and a winner and a team player - at all these things you excel. Do your very, very best and then help all the rest.

We love you the most! Mom, Dad, Kaitlyn, Mamaw and Papa

Hi Brandon,

Grammy checking in (for the LAST time - yay!) I really, really love you, but I hope I NEVER have to blog again - still takes me half the day to figure out how to do it. Last week's journal was really great; sounds like you guys/gals are on the same page and fully focused on your goal. It must have been an awesome feeling when people where cheering you all on as you passed their houses - wish I could have been there to see that. I can't wait to see you (and Sabreena) in ONLY FIVE DAYS!!!

Love,

Grammy :)
